NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor (2 Day)
This 2-day course teaches students how to instruct others in the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations as well as safe, effective, and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home. Students will also have the opportunity to teach others how to use a holster and proper drawing techniques.
Students will also teach a review of safe firearms handling then move to proper mindset, drawing from concealment and teach multiple shooting positions. Students will learn and/or teach the basic legal concepts relating to the use of firearms in self-defense along with shooting principles that are specific to defensive situations if they are qualified.
This is a very advanced instructor certification class and students are expected to be proficient with their firearm and knowledgeable with the NRA prerequisite classes listed below.
Prerequisites: NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Certification, NRA Personal Protection in the Home Instructor Certification, NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Basic Class Certificate, and NRA Basic Instructor Training within the last two (2) years.
Required Equipment: Pistol, 225 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection, holster, a sturdy belt, a coat or suit jacket AND a sweatshirt or pullover.

Member and Guest Dress Code.
When entering the Members Lodge Clubhouse, inclusive of the Double Barrel Kitchen Restaurant inside and outside dining, and the Preserve Academy classroom, we kindly ask that you abide by our Resort Casual Dress Code, permitting collared shirts, dress shorts, cotton and linen slacks, dressy blouses, pullover tops, dresses and maxi dresses, dress jeans, and close toed shoes.
Nonconforming clothing includes but is not limited to; bathing suits, beach coverups, camisoles, hoodies, non-dressy Jeans, carpenter pants, T-shirts, sweat suits, cutoffs, torn shorts, yoga pants, sneakers, and flip-flops.
