NRA Basic Pistol Class

This course combines classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting positions, cleaning the pistol, and continued opportunities for skill development.

This is the perfect class if you have never fired a gun or are a beginning shooter. This course will give you a solid foundation in firearm safety and basic shooting skills which you can build upon in more advanced classes. This class is also a prerequisite to becoming an NRA Pistol Instructor.

Firearms, ammunition, eye and ear protection will be provided by The Sporting Shoppe at The Preserve or you are welcome to bring your own. A holster is recommended but not required and the ammunition count is approximately 100 rounds.

This course qualifies you for your Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine and Florida resident or NON-resident pistol permit licenses.

Students can bring their own firearm, 100 rounds, eye, and ear protection or it will be provided by The Preserve. We can provide use of a 22 caliber gun and 22 caliber ammunition free of charge or students can bring their own firearm and ammunition. We Do NOT provide ammo.
