Fly Fishing (100)

We will cover the basics of fly fishing in the classroom and on the pond. Starting with fundamentals like the differences between fly and spin rods, types of flies, fly line construction, casting basics, reel selection and how to present a fly to fish, we’ll talk streamers, wet and dry flies plus some basic entomology and then pack up the gear and get to the fishing. You’ll leave excited to start fly fishing on your own, knowing how to identify local fish and which fly set up is best for you.

Todd Corayer is a local fisherman who has fished fresh and salt water on both coasts, Canada and Mexico. He’s a freelance outdoors writer who pens the weekly Fish Wrap column while also working as The Preserve’s Field Manager.

The Sporting Shoppe will provide a Complete Fly Fishing Package (Rod, and Reel) Which Can Be Taken Home with You After Class FREE of Charge.
