NRA Personal Protection in the Home Instructor Course (300) – This nine (9) hour class teaches the instructor how to convey the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. Instructor candidates will learn the NRA’s approach to teaching basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.
Required equipment: Students should bring a firearm, approximately 150 rounds (or more) of ammunition, eye protection, and ear protection.
Required Prerequisites: NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Certification and NRA Personal Protection in the Home class.
