NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home (2 Day)
NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home – This 2-day course teaches students the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations along with the safe, effective, and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.
Students will have the opportunity to use a holster and learn a proper drawing technique. We also review safe firearms handling then move to proper mindset, drawing from concealment and learn multiple shooting positions. This course contains the essential skills and techniques needed to prevail in a life-threatening situation.
Students will also learn the basic legal concepts relating to the use of firearms in self-defense along with shooting principles that are specific to defensive situations. This class also covers Firearms and the Law, Legal Aspects of Self-Defense, situations that may require Use of Deadly Force, and court cases related to firearms use and laws.
Required equipment: Pistol, 225 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection, an OWB Kydex holster, a sturdy belt, a coat or suit jacket AND a sweatshirt or pullover.
Required prerequisites: NRA Personal Protection in the Home class.
